After 10 weeks of beautiful cinematography, KBS “Love Rain,” starring Jang Geun Suk and Im YoonA (Girls’ Generation), made its grand exit last night. The finale saw a slight increase in ratings, recording 5.9% (ABG Nielsen). Its competitors MBC “Light and Shadow” and SBS “The Chaser” recorded 20.5% and 9.9% respectively.

Produced by the masterminds behind sensational melodramas “Winter Sonata” and “Autumn in My Heart,” “Love Rain” drew international interest even before its premiere. Unfortunately, the drama failed to deliver up to expectations domestically, recording low single digit ratings throughout its run. However, the lovely series managed to secure an international fanbase, becoming one of the most popular dramas on Soompi and other international hallyu sites.

Meanwhile, rom-com “Big,” starring Lee Min Jung, Gong Yoo, and Bae Suzy (miss A), will take over “Love Rain’s” time slot and premiere next Monday, June 4. Big” promises to be another hit as it’s written by the famous Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran), the masterminds behind trendy rom-coms like “The Greatest Love,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho” “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girl,” and more.

“Big” is a body-swapping, romantic comedy where an eighteen-year-old delinquent, Kang Kyung Joon (Shin Won Ho), swaps bodies with 30-year-old pediatrician, Seo Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo). Coincidentally, Kang Kyung Joon is Gil Daran’s (Lee Min Jung) student, while Seo Yoon Jae happens to be her fiancé.
